  • To Activate – enter code the last number key is either #2 (for away), #3 (for stay)
  • To Deactivate or Reset – enter code the last number key is #1(off)

Yes, False Alarm fees are assessed. False alarm service fees are as follows:

  • (2) False Alarms within a twelve-month period are free
  • More than (2) False Alarms within a twelve-month period for a residential alarm is $50.00.
  • More than (2) False Alarms within a twelve-month period for a non-residential alarm is $100.00.
  • Fee Cost varies per city

How Can I prevent a false alarm?

  • To prevent “False Alarms” have your security company check your system regularly.
  • Have routine maintenance can help prevent many false alarms.
  • The majority of “False Alarms” are caused by user error. Make sure that everyone who uses your alarm system understands how it works. Anyone who has a key to your home should know how to operate your system.

Why do I have to register my alarm?

Current ordinance requires each alarm to be registered every year with the City. The registration is valid for twelve months.

  • The best way to obtain a new alarm registration form is to contact your city’s alarm registration or application department. You can easily find this information through a quick Internet search by typing “Alarm Registration” along with your city’s name.

How much is the alarm registration fee?

If I register my alarm in the previous years, do I have to renew my registration?

Every year after the initial registration your city may require you to renew the registration. Please check with your city for more accurate information.

Who do I make check payable to?

This information can be found on your cities alarm registration or application department website.

Do I get a certificate or sticker proving that my alarm has been registered?

You won’t receive a certificate or sticker. However, your city may send you a follow-up document with your alarm registration number. Once you receive it, please share this information with Pro-Tech.
